Awarded for the Best Single Line of text in a fic.  Both general and adult stories are permitted in each subcategory as follows:

- Sexiest Line

- Most 'Tolkienesque' Line

- Best Pick-up (or attempted pick-up) Line

Award for the Best Original Art (single piece of artwork)

Awarded by the House of the Fountain under Ecthelion

Awarded for the Best Original Art in four divisions, with both a general and adult subdivision for each of the following:

- Drawing - Black and White

- Drawing - Color

- Photo Manip

- Painting

- Other

Award for the Best Icon (100 x 100 pixel image)

Awarded by the Folk of the Tree under Galdor

Awarded to the best icon, an image 100 x 100 pixels commonly used on blogs and message boards.  Winners will be awarded in each of the following three categories:

Award for the Best Poetry

Awarded by the Folk of the Swallow under Duilin

- Short Poem (200 words or less, or a sample of a larger work not to exceed 200 words)

Award for the Best Design

Awarded by the Folk of the Heavenly Arch under Egalmoth

Awarded for the best design and layout for each of the following:

- Yahoo Groups or MSN Groups layout

- Web Site Layout

Award for the Best Minstrel

Awarded by the Folk of the Harp under Salgant

Awarded for the best minstrel, who demonstrates an outstanding performance in one of the following:

- Best Songfic (not to exceed 3,000 words or else a sample of a larger work not to exceed 3,000 words)

- Best Original Song

- Best Rewritten Lyrics to someone else's song

Award for the Most Memorable Characters

Awarded by the House of the Hammer of Wrath under Rôg

Awarded for the most memorable or best characters.  Winners will be determined for each of the following categories (each character nominated should also have an excerpt submitted, not to exceed 500 words):

- Best Characterization of an existing character

Award for the Best of Both Worlds

Awarded by the House of the Golden Flower under Glorfindel

Awarded for the best of both worlds, that is, for the best beginning and the best ending. Winners will be selected in the following four subdivisions:

- Most captivating Prologue

- Most summarizing Epilogue

- Best opening paragraph or line

- Best ending paragraph or line
